His term runs from&nbsp;<b>September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2028<\/b>. He succeeds Fr. Jean-Marie Bilwala Kabesa.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"text-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\u00c9ric Sylvestre\" data-align=\"center\" data-entity-type=\"\" data-entity-uuid=\"\" height=\"317\" src=\"https:\/\/diocesemontreal.wp.vortexdev.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/m_sylvestre_865x487.png\" width=\"563\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>A member of the Society of the Priests of Saint Sulpice, Mr. Sylvestre recently served as Provincial Treasurer of the Sulpicians in Canada. He was also Director of the National Office for Liturgy and Rector of the Pontifical Canadian College in Rome for nine years. With a deep interest in architecture, art history, and music, he graduated from the \u00c9cole du Louvre and has devoted part of his ministry to South America, notably in Brazil and Colombia.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"text-align-center\"><b>Fr. Jean-Marie Bilwala Kabesa<\/b><\/h3>\n\n<p>Fr. Jean-Marie Bilwala Kabesa has been appointed&nbsp;<b>Interim Episcopal Vicar for the Central Deanery<\/b>, effective&nbsp;<b>September 1, 2025<\/b>. In addition to his episcopal duties, he has been appointed <strong>Pastor of Sainte-Madeleine d&#8217;Outremont<\/strong>.
